Also known as Newtox, Jeuveau is an injectable used to smooth wrinkles. It contains botulinum toxin type A, which is the same active ingredient as Botox. Jeuveau received FDA approval in 2005.
If you’re interested in smoothing facial wrinkles, our providers at Carolina Pines ENT can help you decide if Jeuveau will be a good fit and support you through each step of treatment.
How Is Juveau Different from Botox?
Both Botox and Jeuveau relax muscles beneath the skin to smooth out wrinkles. Botox was approved by the FDA in 2002 and can be used to treat frown lines, horizontal forehead lines and crow’s feet.
Jeuveau has been approved to treat glabellar lines, which are horizontal wrinkles above the eyebrows.
How Does It Work?
Your provider at Carolina Pines ENT will explain each step of the Jeuveau process. The first step of the treatment process is for your provider to clean the treatment area. Next, they will inject Jeuveau into the area with several small injections.
Slight results are sometimes noticeable right away, with the full effect of treatment visible in about a week. You will be able to resume your normal routine directly after receiving Jeuveau, though you should avoid rubbing the area.
How Long Does Juveau Last?
Like other botulinum toxin injections, the effects of Jeuveau will wear off after several seeks to months. Your provider will discuss how often you may need to schedule future injections to maintain the effects of treatment. Typically, you should wait at least three months between treatment sessions.
